WHAT IS THE MCKENZIE METHOD?

Exercises and therapeutic techniques that can be done independently at home.

The McKenzie Method, or Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT), is a recognized diagnostic and therapeutic system used worldwide for both spinal and limb disorders. It was developed by physiotherapist from New Zealand - Robin McKenzie and has been used globally for over 60 years.

MDT therapists are able to assess and classify all musculoskeletal conditions. This means that if the problem involves the spine, joints, or muscles of the limbs, the use of the McKenzie Method may be indicated. A specialist in MDT will be able to determine whether the McKenzie Method can be useful as a treatment strategy and accurately define a rehabilitation plan.

The key feature of the Method is the initial assessment, based on which the appropriate course of action can be safely and reliably determined. The use of expensive diagnostic tests, such as MRI scans, is often not necessary. Therapists specialized in MDT are able to quickly determine the most effective treatment approach.

MDT - an effective and proven method of medical therapy confirmed by scientific research!
